God Remembers

Get comfy and everyone takes it in turn to hold their thumbs out and wiggle them up or down to express how they are and how their week has been. Allow everyone to share why. Perhaps share what God has been doing in your life this week. Why not take a moment to pray about what comes up?

Going to the beach – sit in a circle. Nominate someone to start. They have to say, “today we’re going to the beach and I’m going to bring a (and name something beginning with the letter ‘A’). They then pass on to the next person who says the same, “today we’re going to the beach and I’m going to bring a (the name of the first thing beginning with ‘A’ that’s just been said) and they add another item, this time beginning with ‘B’. They then pass on to the next person who remembers all the items up until that point and adds a new one with the next letter of the alphabet ‘C’. Keep going until people can no longer remember all the items. [point: God always remembers, even when we forget].

Family Discussion questions:

  • Can you think of a time when you’ve felt like you were on your own? What made you feel better?

  • Why do you think people sometimes feel like God doesn’t care or has forgotten them?

  • How can you help each other to remember this week that God always remembers His promises?

Find a space with your cushion somewhere, bring your journal or paper and pen with you.

Play this worship music video and spend some time with God, asking Him to remind you of the promises He has spoken to you about your life. If you don’t have any, why not ask Him to share something with you.

Why not choose one person each this week from your family and ask God for a promise that you can give them from Him.
