a powerful King

Get comfy and everyone takes it in turn to hold their thumbs out and wiggle them up or down to express how they are and how their week has been. Allow everyone to share why. Perhaps share what God has been doing in your life this week. Why not take a moment to pray about what comes up?

Follow the leader – have everyone get into a line and pick someone at the front to be in charge. They have to walk and pick an action (like raising their hands in the air) everyone followers the leader of the line. After a few different actions swap the leader at the front to the back of the line and then new leader takes over [point: being in charge]

Family Discussion questions:

  • Can you think of a time where you were put in charge – what was it like?

  • Do you think Jesus makes a good king? Why?

  • What do you think it means for Jesus to be ‘king’ of your heart?

Find a space with your cushion somewhere, bring your journal or paper and pen with you.

Play this worship music video and spend some time  with God asking Him to come and rule in your heart. Ask Him to show you places you might not be letting Him take charge, ask Him to take charge of those things now.

Using some card make and decorate a crown for each person.
