grateful getters & generous givers...

Get comfy and everyone takes it in turn to hold their thumbs out and wiggle them up or down to express how they are and how their week has been. Allow everyone to share why. Perhaps share what God has been doing in your life this week. Why not take a moment to pray about what comes up?

Clap catch - have a ball or a soft toy - something you can throw and catch. Stand in a circle and throw the ball to each other. The person who is receiving the ball has to clap their hands before they catch it. If you forget to clap or drop the ball then you go down on one knee, then 2 knees if you miss another one. If you receive the catch with a clap, then you can start afresh on both feet. [Key point - grateful fetters]

Family Discussion questions:

  • Have you ever received something that you'd been asking for, maybe for ages, how did it feel? How did you say thanks?

  • Why do you think only one person came back t o say thank you in the story?

  • How can we show we are thankful to God and live generous lives?

Find a space with your cushion somewhere, bring your journal or paper and pen with you.

Play this worship music video and spend some time with God, thanking Him for all the wonderful gifts He has given to you and most of all for the gift of Jesus. Ask Him how you can say thank you and be generous with what He has given to you.

This week take some time to thank God for what He has given to you and find something that you could give away to someone else - maybe its a toy or a pack of sweets. You can give it to someone you know will like it or ask your mum and dad to take it to a charity shop for someone else.
