powerful love

Get comfy and everyone takes it in turn to hold their thumbs out and wiggle them up or down to express how they are and how their week has been. Allow everyone to share why. Perhaps share what God has been doing in your life this week. Why not take a moment to pray about what comes up?

Longest in the ring – have a set of challenges for each person to take and a timer (you can use someone’s phone). At the beginning of each challenge a timer is set and the person who can keep it going the longest wins. Some examples of challenges could include: standing on one leg without moving, or jumping up and down, or staying up on all fours [point: never stopping love]

Family Discussion questions:

  • Can you think of a time when someone’s words have really helped you?

  • What is your favourite part of the story this week? Why?

  • How can we use our words to show Jesus’ powerful love to people this week?

Find a space with your cushion somewhere, bring your journal or paper and pen with you.

Play this worship music video and spend some time asking God to remind you of His powerful love towards you. Then ask Him if you where He wants you to show His love to others, even those that are hard to love. What action could you take to show love this week?

Do something for someone else this week that shows love for them (e.g. putting your sister or brothers dishes away/ sending a text to someone who might be lonely/ cleaning your room before being asked).
